She said YES!!

That's right...my baby sister is ENGAGED!! Clayton popped the question on Wednesday and included the family and a few close friends to join in the fun. Lindsey and Clayton have been together for a little over 2 years...they actually met while I was in labor with Ava (April 10, 2008)..crazy! They started dating not too long after and are such a lovely couple! Clayton planned the whole day out...with a little help from my mom and me.

Clayton and Lindsey have date night EVERY Wednesday night (boy would that be nice to have a date night every week) and each of them takes turns planning something fun and special for the other person. Well this past Wednesday I think tops them all...thanks to Clayton! When Lindsey got off work there was a rose, a room key to the Crescent Hotel and a note...I won't go into details but it was a very sweet letter. It said to not call Clayton but to drive to the Crescent and valet her car and someone from the valet would walk her up to where she needed to go. Lindsey was taken up to an amazing suite that Clayton was in waiting for her. He played it off like this was just date night but a very "Special" ONE! He told her to go shower and freshen up...he had packed her bags with a change of clothes and everything she would need...so sweet! Once she was all ready he told her that they had dinner reservations at 7 PM with his and her family to celebrate...she said to celebrate what?? And that my friends is when he asked her to be his lovely wife and partner for life.....so sweet!! So they went across the street and we were all waiting anxiously for them in a private room at Coal Vines. Then we spent the night celebrating, laughing and drinking wine! Congratulations to a beautiful couple and we are so very excited to welcome Clayton to our family!!

Landon's One Month

I am a week behind but our sweet baby boy is already one month!! I can't believe how fast time is flying by and I only have 3 1/2 more weeks at home with the kids before I go back to work!! Landon is such a sweet baby...super relaxed and calm! He is the biggest snuggle bug and LOVES to be held and sleep right up against me or Tyler. He is sleeping most of the night in the bassinet but sometimes gets grumpy around 6 AM and just wants to be in bed snuggled up. We can't help but to enjoy this because Ava never wanted to snuggle. He is eating 4-6 oz each feeding and is sleeping anywhere from 3 1/2 to 5 hours at night. He smiles all the time and loves it when we make owl noises. Landon loves getting kisses and opens his mouth especially for them! He loves his big sister and just stares at her in total amazement. Ava is so good with him and is such a big helper. We love this boy so much and feel like we have been a family of four forever!

Shared Spaces

We have decided to stay in our house for a bit longer since we love it so much even though it is small and we are about to grow out of it. We bought this house 4 years ago and completely remodeled it in hopes of staying here for about 5 years. Well little did we know 4 years later we would have TWO kids!! When we found out we were pregnant a part of me hoped for another girl since the kids were going to share a room. I had so many great ideas for a room that Ava could share with a sister. How would she share a room with a boy?? Well...when we found out that the little peanut in my belly was a boy this created many challenges for us.

Tyler's mom was so kind to make all of Ava's crib bedding so my first thought was to see if we could get her to make Landon's. I spent countless hours on various websites looking for kids bedding that would work for a girl and boy...I even researched shared spaces on websites to see how I was going to coordinate this. We asked Tyler's mom if she would be so kind to make Landon's bedding....and she said YES! I picked out Ava's bedding first and then went to fabric store after fabric store trying to find fabrics for Landon's bedding that would match. I finally found fabrics that coordinated perfectly with Ava's and I was so excited! Christine yet again made the most beautiful bedding for our little boy and I could not have imagined anything more perfect! So now that the bedding and furniture were taken care...my next project was art for the walls.

My girlfriend Amanda has a very talented sister, Mary, who is an amazing artist. I was super excited when she agreed to do some artwork for the room to pull it all together. We decided to do canvases over the crib versus paintings on the walls since this is a temporary situation. That way we can take the beautiful artwork with us wherever we end up. She truly pulled everything together and put the icing on the cake. The room turned out so beautiful and ended up looking nothing like I could have imagined....it turned out even better! I have to give a special thank you to my mother-in-law, Christine, for all the time and love she put into making the bedding and to Mary for the beautiful paintings she created!

Guests, Guests and More Guests!!

Over the last few weeks we have had a ton of company over and people that have flown in to visit us and meet our new little peanut (Tubs....this is his new name since he eats ALL THE TIME)!! We are so grateful for all the amazing friends and family that have brought us meals for the last few weeks, gifts for our very lucky kids and good company and laughter during these hectic and crazy times! My dad came in town and visited us for 7 days, then my bestie Brooke from San Diego was here and showered Ava and Landon with amazing love and gifts, my grandparents from Savannah have been here for the last week and my uncle Jeff and his kiddos came up from Houston. We have spent A LOT of time in the pool at our house, my moms and my Aunt Steph's over the last few weeks. We have loved every minute of the chaos and all the love that has been shown to us. We are so thankful to have so many people in our lives that care so much. Now I am kinda bummed because all the fun and excitement of so many people being around is over...but it will be nice to get things back on track and start getting into a routine with the four of us!
