Zing Zang Zoom....Ava's FIRST Circus!!

Since there has been so much going on in the Hampshire house over the past couple of months preparing for our new arrival and then with all the excitement of Landon finally being here....we decided to do something special with just Ava. Even though we have been really good about giving her LOTS of attention we felt that she needed some fun time with just Mom and Dad without Baby Landon. My mom took Landon for some much needed bonding time with her new grandson and Tyler, Dad and I took Ava to her FIRST Barnum & Bailey Circus. Suzanne, Alexi, Alexandra and Nicolas joined us too! We had so much fun....the adults may have had more fun then the kids! We had hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, cotton candy, toys and the feeling of being a kid again! We were a little nervous about Ava enjoying it and sitting through a show like this so we had been pumping her up for a few days prior to going....and she absolutely LOVED it!

Happy Birthday Mom

It was mom's birthday on Sunday...July 25th. We all went to Uncle Julio's to celebrate with yummy mexican food and delicious margaritas!! It was our first time out to a restaurant with 2 kids!! As usual Ava was all over the place and Landon pretty much slept the entire time! It was so nice getting everyone together and having a good time! I got to enjoy my first margarita...well two and they were delicious!!

Mom we love you so much and are so very lucky to have you in all of our lives! You are my best friend and the best mom any daughter could ever have. Landon and Ava are so very lucky to have such an amazing Mimi and to be loved by you! You are an incredible woman and such a special person. Happy Birthday!!

2 Week Check-Up

Landon is 2 weeks today and we have survived...YAY!! We had his 2 week doctor's appt. today and he is doing great. Last Tuesday he had dropped from birth weight of 7.8 lbs to 6.14 lbs. Today he was back up to 7.11 lbs!! He eats all the time!! He eats about every 1.5 to 3 hours during the day and anywhere from 3-6 hours at night. Last night he went from 9:30 to 3:00 AM!! Below are his stats:

Weight: 7.11 lbs (25th percent)

Length: 22 inches long (90th percent)

Head: 14 inches (25th percent)

Landon's Photo Shoot

My girlfriend Amanda and her family brought us dinner the other night...yummy chicken enchiladas. While they were here we decided to play with our little guy and she did a photo shoot of sweet Landon for us. She has an awesome camera that I would love to have...maybe I will ask for one for Christmas?? She takes such amazing pictures of her family so I was so excited for her to take some of Landon for us! Thanks A for doing this and sending these our way...XOXO!!

Landon Ross Hampshire...The First 48 Hours

On Thursday July 8, 2010 I checked into Baylor Hospital Frisco at 7:30 AM. It was a gloomy rainy morning but filled with so much excitement and anticipation. By 8:30 AM they had me all hooked up and ready to go. When I checked in, I was at 4 cm which was very exciting! They suggested I go ahead and get an epidural since Ava came so quickly. They were worried that the same would happen with Landon. I did not feel comfortable getting it so early on and without having any labor pains yet. I waited until 10:30 to get it and by 2:45 I was only at 6 cm!! I felt like he was never going to come.

Then at 3:15 I felt a bit of pressure and the feeling like I needed to push. I called my nurse in and she checked and was like oh my you are ready!! I couldn't believe it....the time had finally come....Landon was on his way out! I was overwhelmed with emotions and started to get very emotional and crying! I was crying and smiling and kissing Tyler and we just kept looking at each other with this overwhelming love for each other and our family!

I started pushing at 3:30 once they rushed everyone in and he was born at 3:42...he came flying out! Landon weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long. Tyler and I were in such amazement...our son that we watched grow in my belly for 9 months was finally here and in our arms. It was yet again another amazing experience at Baylor Hospital. Landon was delivered by Dr. Branning the same doctor that delivered Ava...he feels like part of the family now...I could not imagine going through this experience without him. I took full advantage of all the time I had at Baylor and stayed as long as I could. We came home from the hospital on Saturday to unite our whole family and begin our new journey!
